I have a passion for automating operations and decision making process at small and medium-size companies. I feel that by and large, general purpose systems installed locally or on the cloud, fail to help users deal with their daily tasks, requiring too much system interaction to keep records or to obtain information required to make a decision. While a CRM or Warehouse Accounting system may be too complicated to develop from scratch, most of the time it is possible to augment such system with a custom solution that will eliminate productivity bottlenecks and reduce employee frustration.
I specialize in requirements gathering and specification, application architecture, design and development using Microsoft Application Stack. I lean towards formal development processes, preferably a subset of industry-standard Rational Unified Process (RUP). Following a formal process makes your project transparent to stakeholders, streamlines the interaction between business, development and QA teams, and greatly simplifies change management. Needless to say, it becomes paramount if your organization is outsourcing some of the development overseas. As a consultant, I can either follow the process you are currently using or train your team on the best practices of software development and help your organization to establish the most effective process for its needs.
